Who We Are

Djiwö Magazine is a Black-female led publication founded in 2025 with a clear mission : to inform, support, and amplify the voices of girls and women in education.

We focus on stories that matter to students — especially girls — as they navigate challenges and opportunities of learning today. Our content ranges from personal essays and how-to-guides to college prep resources, practical advice, and interviews with inspiring girls, educators, and women across various fields.

At our core, we want to create a community-driven space where young women can reflect on and talk openly about their experiences — whether its academic pressure, friendships, academic goals, or everyday challenges. We believe that honest dialogue, shared knowledge, and visibility are essential parts of building confidence and connection.

But Djiwö is also about something broader : we want to help bring girls’ education back into focus — not just as a global issue, but as a personal and cultural one. By combining thoughtful journalism with accessible educational tools, we aim to make space for young people — especially girls — to be seen, heard, and supported.

This is not just a magazine. It’s a platform, a resource, and a growing network for girls who care about education and want to shape it.

SDG 4, our mission.

Djiwö Magazine’s stands for Girls’ Education.

Out of the 17 Sustainable Development Goals (SDGs) created by the United Nations, Goal 4 : Quality Education for All speaks to us the loudest, especially when it comes to girls’ access to education.

Around the world, 119 million girls are denied the chance to go to school. SDG 4 is not just about classrooms — it’s about equality, opportunity, and breaking cycles of poverty. It’s about making sure every girl, everywhere, has the tools and support she needs to thrive.

At Djiwö Magazine, we believe that education is a powerful force for change. Every girl deserves a seat at the table. That’s why we’re building a platform dedicated to promoting and supporting girls’ education as part of SDG 4.

This is our contribution — a space where stories, solutions, and voices come together to help ensure no girl is left behind.
